GABRIELE CONTE is the heart of the brand. He holds 40-years of experience in the footwear industry. Before creating Poesie Veneziane, he collaborated in designing and developing the collections of a myriad of Italian manufacturers and international brands for whom he has been also sales representative at his own historical showroom.
Today, his showroom still runs and is based inside the Poesie Veneziane’s Studio and Showroom located in the heart of the Italian most famous shoes-district that is the one of the Brenta Riviera, where the heritage is all about shoe-making.
A life dedicated to shoes, in a continuous journey through the whole "Boot" (Italy), between producers and boutique customers in addition to a permanent presence during Milan Fashion Week and Pitti. Since 2012, his mission is to bring all his skills together at Poesie Veneziane, to finally reach his dream as entrepreneur and designer.
SEBASTIANO CONTE was raised between shoes and clothes. Most of his after-school afternoons since he was a little kid, up until he became a young teenager, were spent at his mum's artisan sweater factory.
She used to produce mainly for Moncler & Benetton group. There, he learnt the processes behind their making and often helped with anything that was needed. Shortly after, he started travelling with Gabriele at many shoes-manufacturers across Italy, following him in his design trips and meeting independent boutiques clients, learning and getting passionate about this unique, highly artisan-based and complex product that are shoes.
Before joining Poesie Veneziane, he worked and studied in London for 6 years. There, he graduated with an MSc in Creativity, Design & Innovation from Bayes Business School, London (formerly known as Cass Business School) and participated to various Fashion Design courses at Central Saint Martins. He combines expertise in many art and creative forms (painting, photography) with computer skills.
